Completion of the cost proposal
for a government contract client, often in tight deadline,
is a specialty. We
assist in this role in several capacities. We know that
contractors
need help in developing their rate structure and support
for their first response. We understand this process and
we know the questions to ask and what information you are
going to need to support your bid. We also know that ever
solution is customized to the client. Sometimes this means
that we assist in a total support role from cradle to grave
in the cost volume, or sometimes in a more limited approach
in completing Requests for Proposals (RFP). We understand
the proposal process as well as the nature of solicitations
and the time deadlines that are placed on the contractor.
We will be there even after you have turned your product
over to your customer to help with follow-up questions
and help you to move forward now after you secure your
work.
We work to turn our products around in a timely manner
and help the contractor secure a profitable contract
pursuant to which they can achieve their larger business
goals.
We
work with contractors around the nation as well as in
our corporate headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama.
Location
has never
created an issue for us in the past - we have assisted
clients, in Atlanta, Georgia; Las Cruces, New Mexico; Dallas,
Texas;
Washington, DC; El Paso and San Antonio, Texas; Orlando,
Florida; Los Angeles, California; Denver, Colorado; Raleigh/Durham,
North Carolina; and Herndon, Virginia, as well as several
other locations around the United States. We also have
assisted
clients overseas in China, Columbia and Honduras.
Preparation of Incurred Cost Submissions
can be a hassle
for contractors that do not have the internal support
to manage this
significant task. We assist contractors
in this regard either by
supporting them through completion
of all of the
required schedules or by providing support as
needed. We also help decipher what
the DCAA is asking for and
the reasons for those
requests. In providing this support,
we try to simplify the preparation
of future schedules, either
by completing additional setup in the contractors’ accounting
systems or outside schedules
to make things easier to complete
internally
in the years
to come.
Federal Acquisition Regulations
(FAR)
Understanding the FAR can be
a challenging process,
especially when a contractor has many other
tasks to complete on
a daily
basis. We
try to make the FAR more
understandable, both by educating contractors on
the rules that must be
followed on a
corporate level and
the clauses pursuant
to which they are obligated under each of their
contracts. We also assist
contractors as they grow
in understanding the
pitfalls that may
lie ahead.
Internal Accounting System
Setup and Support
Setup of an accounting system
can be one of the most
important aspects
of running a business as a government
contractor.
We assist our contractors
with various
aspects of their accounting systems, such as the
DCAA compliant
chart of account, and we analyze how the system is going
to process
information
in a manner
that
will offer
checks and
balances. Often, our contractors do not have the accounting
background
to feel comfortable
that what
they
are doing is
correct. We take
the guesswork out of
that process
and offer an environment in which they can feel
comfortable
and provide
the management tools that they require to run their
business or
produce reports
that their
contracts require.
